The Meaning Behind the Name
The event is named after the Late Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s favorite horse, Al Rubatiya, which is derived from the Arabic language and means ‘to bond or form a nexus’. The name is inspired by the idea that horses connect people from all around the world and create a global community of horse lovers.
